Andy Carroll valued at £18 million!
Pie in the sky sums up that valuation and his playing style.

Crow TBF it's not the first time they've said we're bang on the limit and then they go and buy a load of players

Valencia...and Antonio can play up front...together or each one alone...

I would've said it would've been Jelavic out and another striker in before the Carroll injury. But that may now mean its a safer option to keep Jelavic rather than get rid and then something happens where we can't get another striker in.

Re: Andy Carroll valued at £18 million!
What are we going to pay him with then Texas?

IF and it's a big IF we can shift both Zarate and Jelavic then it might be a goer but nothing will happen until the last knockings of the window.

Re: Andy Carroll valued at £18 million!
One Solution is...

Zaza from Juventus or a quality big lump up front that can score a few goals regularly... on loan with an option to buy...in this window ASAP...

We've had some "bad luck" over the years with high profile signings.

Agreed re Ljungberg...Dyer...

We got lucky with Bellamy as Hughes at City paid over the odds to get him...but we got very little from him on the pitch.

Ashton was a great buy...but he was crippled by a thick cunt in an England training session...

We also were screwed by Joorabchian's dodgy dealings and Duxbury's stupidity on the Tevez Mascherano deal that cost us 30+ millionquid...

Should we sign Charlie Austin or Loic Remy?
Charlie Austin for me.

Younger, fitter and we have enough foreigners.

We should probably put you in charge of recruitment.

Eerrrmm I think you have too much time on your hands. Still I'll throw you a few precious brownie points.

Finally, some good Carroll news

Re: Andy Carroll valued at £18 million!
Signing Carroll for a long term contract was always a big risk in my opinion...and I said so at the time.

Should have taken another year on loan...
His previous history ...behavior...lifestyle.. off pitch incidents...injuries...Liverpool...dumping him at 20million loss etc. were all red flags for me.

I was surprised Sullivan went for it...and especially a 6 year contract.

I can only assume he was swayed by BFS...Nolan...Curtis to do the permanent deal.

At least he has admitted he wasn't fully convinced on this deal...preferring Bony...

And there were probably other options they were looking at before finalizing this deal.

I doubt the club can off load Carroll without taking a massive hit financially on the deal.

Wouldn't get much of a fee if any...and would have to subsidise his wages for the remaining 3 years.

I'm sure Sullivan has worked it all out...and has advised Bilic accordingly.

West Ham sunk 50 millionquid on the Carroll deal...and it seems so far to be a very poor investment.

I will no longer comment on the deal...Carroll's injury record...his inability to stay fit.

I will just comment impartially on his performances when he plays...and leave the rest of it to Sullivan & Co...

"Pretty sure Sullivan wanted Bony"

I love people actually buy into that.

Yep Sullivan wanted Bony so much he gave the joint chairman's player of the season to Carroll because they were desperate for the £35m man marquee signing and not someone hardly anyone had heard of from Holland.

Re: Andy Carroll valued at £18 million!
Pretty sure Sullivan wanted Bony but they kept him hanging until BFS had got Carroll in. I don't think we could afford both of them.

I also said Dyer and Ljunberg would be a waste of money when we signed them.

"I'm a very good at evaluating whether we should sign a player."

Hahahahahahahaha

The stuff people post on here sometimes is genius. Sadly I actually think they believe it.

I thought Bony turned us down and chose Swansea.

I could be wrong though.

Re: Andy Carroll valued at £18 million!
I'm a very good at evaluating whether we should sign a player.

I always had my doubts about Carroll, not so much on the ability front but with his fitness record.

I said at the time we should have signed Bony and once again I have been proved correct.

A player like Bony would have us right up with Leicester and Arsenal now.

It's been a fantastic effort by the team to spread the goals around with Carroll out so regularly this season.
